The past year tested us. From the earthquake last September 30 to Typhoon Tino on November 4, and other unforeseen challenges, Cebu experienced moments that disrupted lives and livelihoods. Yet, in the face of adversity, the true strength of the Cebuano spirit stood firm. Businesses adapted, communities supported one another, and leaders acted with resolve. These experiences did not define our limits; they revealed our capacity to endure, rebuild, and grow stronger.

Resilience, however, must be matched with readiness. As we look ahead, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry places strong emphasis on disaster preparedness and business continuity, recognizing that a prepared business community is a more stable and confident one. By encouraging proactive planning, knowledge-sharing, and coordination across sectors, we aim to help businesses not only recover faster, but operate with greater confidence amid uncertainty.

Equally important is our commitment to sustainable growth. Cebu’s progress must be responsible: balancing economic advancement with environmental stewardship and long-term community well-being. Sustainability is no longer an option; it is a shared responsibility to ensure that today’s growth does not come at the expense of future generations.

At the heart of our recovery are micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs)-the backbone of our economy and a vital source of innovation and employment. Many MSMEs were among the hardest hit, yet they continue to show remarkable determination. The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) remains steadfast in supporting their recovery through greater access to opportunities, capacity-building initiatives, and stronger linkages within the broader business ecosystem to generate gainful employment and uplift communities across Cebu.
