In recognition of the outstanding entrepreneurs with invaluable contribution to the growth and economic development of Cebu, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) annually holds the Grand Chamber Awards (GCA).
The GCA annually recognizes exemplary Cebuano individuals, entrepreneurs, and families who have contributed excellent performance in their fields of business and applied ethical practices that reflect the ideal example of a Cebuano entrepreneur.
Award Categories
Entrepreneur of the Year
This award is reserved for trailblazing founders, owners, CEOs, or COOs who are directly and actively involved in steering their companies to success. It recognizes individuals—not just the companies they built—whose legacy includes:
- Pioneering innovations or industries
- Sustained business growth and resilience
- Significant economic contributions
- Positive impact on communities and lives
This entrepreneur exemplifies lifelong achievement, having consistently demonstrated the highest standards of leadership, integrity, and commitment to nation-building through enterprise.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be the Founder, Owner, CEO, or COO of the business
- Must have direct entrepreneurial involvement in the business’ strategic growth.
- The business must have been in continuous operation for at least 10 years
- Demonstrates:
- Lifelong entrepreneurial success
- Enduring impact on their industry, community, or the national economy
- Legacy of innovation, excellence, and leadership
Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year
The Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year honors a rising business leader who, within the early stages of their entrepreneurial journey, has already demonstrated remarkable vision, innovation, and leadership. This individual has shown the ability to build and grow a business that is gaining traction in its industry and making a positive impact on its community.
The award celebrates those who, while still establishing their enterprise, exhibit a strong potential for long-term success and sustainability. These entrepreneurs embody the future of enterprise—driven by fresh ideas, passion, and a clear sense of purpose.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The entrepreneur must be the founder or co-founder of the business.
- The business must be in operation for at least three (3) years.
- Demonstrates:
- Clear entrepreneurial drive and leadership
- Notable business growth or milestones achieved in a short span
- Innovation in product, service, or business model
Early impact on industry, customers, or community
Innovation Leader of the Year
“Innovation need not always be digital.” This award celebrates leaders who bring bold ideas to life, challenge conventions, and champion a culture of continuous improvement and creativity.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The business may be from any industry or sector, with innovation expressed through:
- Process improvement
- Product development
- Organizational transformation
- Market disruption or new service models
- Must be in operation for at least three (3) years
- Must have demonstrated:
- Clear innovation impact on their industry, community, or customers
- Visionary and transformative leadership
- A culture of creativity, resilience, and sustainable growth
Socially Responsible Entrepreneur of the Year
The Socially Responsible Entrepreneur of the Year honors a visionary business leader who has built a self-sustaining, inclusive business that meaningfully integrates low-income or marginalized populations into its value chain—as producers, suppliers, distributors, service providers, or customers.
This award recognizes entrepreneurs who prioritize long- term value creation over profit maximization, while upholding the principles of equity, dignity, and non-discrimination. Through their enterprise, they create shared economic opportunities, empower underserved communities, and contribute to inclusive and sustainable growth.
These individuals demonstrate that successful entrepreneurship can be both profitable and purpose- driven, making business a powerful force for positive social change.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be the prime mover, founder, or owner actively leading the organization
- The business must have been in continuous operation for at least three (3) years
- Demonstrates:
- Active integration of low-income or underserved groups into the business model
- Commitment to inclusive growth, ethical practices, and social impact
- Measurable benefits to marginalized communitie
- A balance between commercial viability and social mission
Countryside Entrepreneur of the Year
The Countryside Entrepreneur of the Year aims to honor an outstanding entrepreneur whose business operations are located outside the highly urbanized tri-cities of Cebu City, Mandaue City, and Lapu-Lapu City. This award seeks to recognize individuals who have significantly contributed to local economic development in areas beyond Metro Cebu— strengthening inclusive growth and fostering sustainable enterprises in less urbanized communities.
To qualify as “countryside,” the business must be based in and primarily operating in any of the following:
Northern Cebu Municipalities and Cities: Danao City, Compostela, Liloan, Carmen, Catmon, Sogod, Borbon, Tabogon, Bogo City, San Remigio, Medellin, Daanbantayan, Bantayan, Santa Fe, Madridejos, Tuburan and Tabuelan
Southern Cebu Municipalities and Cities: Minglanilla, San Fernando, Carcar City, Sibonga, Argao, Dalaguete, Alcoy, Boljoon, Oslob, Santander, Ginatilan, Malabuyoc, Alegria, Badian, Moalboal, Alcantara, Ronda, Dumanjug, Barili
Central Cebu (Western and Mountainous Towns): Balamban, Asturias, Pinamungahan, Toledo City, Aloguinsan, Toledo’s remote barangays outside the city proper
Note on Borderline Cities like Naga and Talisay:
- Talisay City and Naga City are not automatically qualified due to their proximity to Metro Cebu and relatively urbanized status. Their eligibility shall be evaluated on a case-by-case basis using criteria such as:
- Population density
- Economic classification (1st class component city vs. municipality)
- Presence of urban sprawl
- Business location’s actual distance from the tri- cities’ commercial centers
The company/business must have been in operation for at least five (5) years.
Sustainable Futures Entrepreneur of the Year
The Sustainable Futures Entrepreneur of the Year honors a business individual that exemplifies exceptional commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. This award recognizes corporate leaders who embed sustainability at the core of their operations, driving positive environmental outcomes, promoting social well-being, and upholding transparent, ethical governance practices.
Rather than adopting broad Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this award is intentionally designed to reflect measurable ESG performance, promoting accountability and long-term value creation across the business ecosystem. Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to companies operating for at least five (5) years with consistent performance in ESG areas.
- Must be a member in good standing of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
- Environmental (E):
- Implementation of resource-efficient processes (e.g., energy conservation, waste reduction, carbon footprint management)
- Use of renewable energy, circular economy practices, or green technologies
- Clear environmental targets, reporting, or certifications (e.g., ISO 14001, carbon neutrality)
- Social (S):
- Workplace diversity and inclusion, employee well- being, and community engagement
- Ethical supply chain practices and responsible labor standards
- Active programs that contribute to social impact, education, or public health
- Governance (G):
- Transparent and accountable leadership structures
- Ethical business practices, compliance with laws, and anti-corruption measures
- Integration of ESG metrics in business strategy and decision-making
Young Entrepreneur of the Year
The Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards a dynamic and visionary entrepreneurs aged 40 years old and below, who demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation, and business acumen in their respective fields. This award recognizes those who are not only building successful enterprises but are also shaping the future through bold ideas and forward-thinking strategies.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Entrepreneur must be 40 years old or younger at the time of nomination.
- The nominee must be a founder or co-founder of a business operating for at least three (3) years.
- Demonstrates:
- Business growth and sustainability
- Innovation and adaptability in product, service, or delivery
- Social or community impact
Technopreneur of the Year
Technopreneur of the Year recognizes an outstanding entrepreneur whose core business is built on technology innovation, particularly in ICT (Information and Communications Technology), digital platforms, software, or tech-enabled services. The recipient demonstrates visionary leadership in harnessing emerging technologies to develop disruptive solutions, optimize digital ecosystems, and generate significant economic or social impact.
Their company must serve as a catalyst for digital transformation, offering scalable, future-ready solutions and displaying a strong track record of adaptability, creativity, and technological agility.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The company/business must be technology-driven and must primarily operate in areas such as:
- Software or app development
- Digital commerce or fintech
- IT-enabled services
- Artificial intelligence or data analytics
- Tech startups or digital innovation platforms
- Must be in operation for at least three (3) years
- Must have demonstrated:
- Significant impact on industry or market through technology
- A strong culture of digital innovation and leadership
- Business scalability, sustainability, and technological relevance
Late Bloomer Entrepreneur of the Year
“This recognition underscores our belief that innovation and entrepreneurial success have no age barriers.”
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to entrepreneurs who started their first business venture at age 50 or older.
- The business must be in operation for at least Five (5) years.
- The nominee must demonstrate:
- A compelling entrepreneurial story of reinvention or resilience
- Notable achievements in business performance and community contribution
- Passionate leadership and commitment to purpose, despite a later start in life

GENERAL CRITERIA
Entrepreneurs must meet the following criteria in order to be nominated:
- Owner/Manager of the private or publicly listed company (PLC) under which he/she is being nominated;
- Must be primarily responsible for the recent performance of the company/business;
- Demonstrates leadership and perseverance in the face of adversity
- Fosters teamwork and builds loyalty among personnel
- Demonstrates innovativeness in their product and/or service;
- Lives out integrity in the arena of business competition;
- Practices corporate social responsibility;
- Demonstrates exceptional track record based on the company/business’ present financial
performance; - Past awardees in the same category are not eligible for nomination
- Company/business must have been in operation for the number of years specified in each category.
- Company/business should be based in Cebu or homegrown.

NOMINEE
A nominee must hold positions as owners, founders, CEOs, or COOs with primary responsibilities for their company’s performance, both historically and in recent times. Furthermore, the candidate’s company should have operated for a minimum of three (3) years, must be homegrown, and based or with a head office in Cebu
