CCCI Champions Responsible Technology and Cultural Innovation

The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) continues to demonstrate its commitment to responsible innovation, promoting artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity practices that strengthen Cebu’s economic, educational, and cultural foundations.

Representing the Chamber, VP Darwin John Moises, Vice President for Partnerships, Engagement, and Governance (PEG) and ICT Champion, recently participated in initiatives connecting technology, culture, and education. At the Human–AI Complementarity in Practice forum held at Palm Grass Cebu Heritage Hotel, he highlighted how AI can responsibly support heritage preservation, emphasizing the importance of storytelling, education, and ethical digital practices in maintaining Cebu’s cultural identity.

Organized in partnership with the Tres de Abril Foundation, the forum brought together marketing practitioners, academics, and industry stakeholders to explore how human creativity and AI can complement each other in promoting heritage tourism. Mr. Moises, serving as a panel reactor, underscored that preserving cultural heritage is not just about looking back, but ensuring it remains relevant and meaningful for future generations.

Continuing the Chamber’s focus on responsible technology, Mr. Moises addressed 4th year Computer Engineering students at the Asian College of Technology (ACT) in a cybersecurity awareness session. He encouraged all 70 students to adopt ethical digital practices, highlighting the critical role of cybersecurity in safeguarding communities, businesses, and Cebu’s growing reputation as a competitive technology hub.

“Heritage connects us to the past, but its value lies in remaining relevant today. With great technological power comes great responsibility: use your skills to protect people, businesses, and communities,” Mr. Moises shared.

Through these engagements, CCCI reinforces its leadership in promoting responsible technology, bridging industry and academe to create a Cebu where innovation, culture, and education thrive together.

Padayon Cebu!
