Don Ramon Aboitiz became the first Filipino president of CCC, representing the shipping business. His business, the business hub being the Cebu port, and his presidency of the Chamber complemented one another. 

During his term, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce building was strategically located between the Cebu City Hall (Cebu Municipality became a Chartered City through the efforts of Senator Vicente Rama in 1936) and the Customs House or Aduana, where shipping transactions were conducted.
