CCCI-ACAS: MOU SIGNING | SEAFOOD PROCESSING CLUSTER

To formalize the interest and commitment of our esteemed partners from the industry and academe comprising the Seafood Processing Cluster under the FISH Visayas Project, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony was held during the 1st blended General Membership Meeting of Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry held at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino on February 28.

The program recognizes the importance of mutual cooperation among themselves to pursue and achieve the Project’s DET Pilot Program, as well as in defining, refining, and initiating the implementation of sustainability mechanisms for active private sector involvement in Dual Education and Training, in the Cebu Chamber of Commerce & Industry – Chamber Assessment, Certification & Accreditation Service (CCCI-ACAS).

Representatives from the Industry were, President of Central Seafoods, Inc. who also represents the Philippine Association of Crabs Processors Inc., Mr. Joseph Nelson Bascones, Phil-Union Frozen Foods, Inc., represented by VP of Planning and Management, Ms. Marudina Villegas, with Siargao’s Bounty and Seafoods Corporation, President, Mr. Philip Senora II.

From the Academe were, Engr. Alden Salazar, MBA, the President and Chairman of the Board of Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology; Atty. Elijah Manuel Sarausad, representing Atty. Augusto Go as the Executive Vice Chancellor of the University of Cebu.

The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry was represented by President, Mr.Felix Taguiam and Executive Director May Elizabeth Ybañez with Past President Lito Maderazo CCCI-Bantayan Island Chapter President and CCCI-ACAS Committee Chair and the Country Resident Representative of AFOS Foundation for Entrepreneurial Development Cooperation, Ms. Teresa Pono.

The MoU ceremony commences the engagement of the Seafood Production Academe-Industry cluster with CCCI and its partner the AFOS for Entrepreneurial Development.
