24 enterprises comprising 35 business owners and entrepreneurs in Cebu City have gained valuable insights and practical knowledge on how to sustain their businesses during crisis situations through the recently concluded Business Recovery Mentoring Training held on April 12-14, 2023 at Jade Hall, Golden Prince Hotel & Suites.

Organized by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI), in partnership with the Cebu City Government through the Cebu Investments Development Concierge Center (CIDCC) Project, the three-day training program aimed to equip nano and micro-enterprises with the necessary tools and strategies to develop a business continuity plan (BCP) and implement business continuity principles to ensure sustainability during times of crisis.

The program brought together a diverse group of participants who were all eager to learn and grow their businesses. Facilitated by Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation an industry experts and seasoned business mentors, the training covered a range of topics, including risk assessment, crisis management, financial management, and communication planning. The interactive sessions provided activities after every module and allowed participants to ask questions, share their insights, and engage in meaningful discussions with their fellow entrepreneurs.

“Thank you so much for this great opportunity to learn more knowledge, forever grateful to all the trainers, CCCI, City government and PDRF. Happy to meet new friends here and hoping for more success to all,” said Ms. Josephine Sayago, one of the participants.

As a culminating activity, the participants were tasked to develop a BCP roadmap and individual roadmap that they will implement in their respective businesses. The presentations were evaluated by the facilitators, and the winning team received a special prize.

“I must say that we had a wonderful group of participants who were all highly engaged and innovative, especially during the group activities and presentations. I commend them for their active participation,” said Ms. Germaine Fay Ramirez, one of the trainers.
