CCCI’S ADVOCACY ON LOWERING THE COST OF POWER IN CEBU

The mandate of the Cebu Chamber has always been to advocate and promote business competitiveness amidst a globally challenging and disruptive economic environment. As the voice of the business in Cebu, we represent more than 1,000 member companies and sectors including the voiceless MSME’s looking at their growth and vulnerabilities (and in this case, the millions of power consumers), most especially during this unprecedented time of COVID-19 pandemic.

CCCI’s APPEAL of the Cebuano consumers:

1. A REASONABLE COST of electricity; A true and full exercise of the COMPETITIVE SELECTION PROCESS of the VECO power supply contracts;

2. TRANSPARENCY in the power industry;

3. A regulatory agency that will serve the BEST INTEREST OF THE CONSUMERS.

To lower the cost of doing business by lowering the cost of power will help the ailing businesses towards recovery and will attract more investors which in turn will generate more employment opportunities for the Cebuanos.
