Equipping Cebu businesses for a competitive digital future, FUJIFILM Business Innovation Philippines Corp. (FUJIFILM BI PH) in partnership with the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), successfully hosted the forum “Digital Resilience: Empowering Cebu Businesses for a Competitive Global Future” on February 13, 2025, at bai Hotel Cebu. The event brought together Chamber members, industry leaders, and MSME representatives to explore how digital technologies, AI, and automation can enhance efficiency, continuity, and competitiveness.

The forum is a practical manifestation of CCCI’s LEAD AMUST agenda, which guides the Chamber’s strategic priorities for Cebu’s economic and business development. Under LEAD, CCCI focuses on launching Cebu’s brand, engaging communities, activating partnerships, and developing a culture of innovation and creativity. Simultaneously, AMUST emphasizes alliances with the academe, leveraging MICE opportunities, ensuring reliable utilities, promoting environmental stewardship, and strengthening transport and logistics. By hosting this forum, the Chamber demonstrates its commitment to helping Cebu businesses, especially MSMEs adapt to a digital-first economy while reinforcing the city’s position as a resilient, innovative, and globally competitive business hub.

The forum opened with remarks from Mr. Edwin Ortiz, CCCI Vice President for Chamber Growth, who highlighted the urgent need for businesses to adapt in a rapidly changing landscape. “Digital transformation is no longer optional. It is about rethinking how we work, how we protect our operations, and how we prepare our workforce for a digital-first economy,” he said.

Following the opening remarks, Mr. Kengo Ishii, Managing Director of FUJIFILM Business Innovation Philippines Corp., highlighted their commitment to being a trusted transformation partner for Cebu businesses. “We believe digital transformation is a journey, and we are ready to take this journey forward together with everyone,” he shared, encouraging attendees to integrate these technologies into their long-term strategies for sustainable growth.

Industry experts from FUJIFILM Business Innovation Asia Pacific, Docusign, and Kintone shared actionable solutions that Cebu businesses and MSMEs can implement immediately. Docusign enables digital contract management, minimizing delays and errors, while M-Files centralizes document management with AI capabilities through AINO, allowing businesses to quickly extract key information even during power or connectivity interruptions. These tools are particularly valuable for information-intensive sectors such as law, consulting, and professional services.
The forum also featured live demonstrations and case studies, allowing participants to experience firsthand how these technologies can be integrated into daily operations for enhanced efficiency, security, and business continuity.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Darwin John Moises, CCCI Vice President for Partnerships, Engagements, and Governance and Champion for ICT, underscored the importance of practical technology adoption and the Chamber’s ongoing support for MSMEs in navigating global digital solutions. “Artificial Intelligence in 2026 will either make or break our business. If we make the right choices, it will strengthen and future-proof our enterprises. But if we don’t, we risk falling behind. The opportunity lies in how we leverage our learnings today,” he said.
The forum emphasizes CCCI’s proactive role in driving digital resilience, helping Cebu businesses embrace digital transformation, AI adoption, and operational continuity. By equipping local enterprises with practical knowledge and tools, the Chamber continues to advance Cebu’s position as a future-ready, innovation-driven, and globally competitive business hub.
Padayon Cebu!
