Now on its 120th year as the voice of business, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold its annual elections via online in partnership with Isla Lipana Co. a Pwc Company.
For the past five (5) years, your chamber is strongly advocating on the lowered cost and ease of doing business in Cebu to create an enabling ecosystem so business will thrive and prosper.
Below are the official candidates to the Industry Sector.
Charles Kenneth Co, a well-known figure in Cebu’s business community, has a long and distinguished career in business and has held several key positions in Cebu’s business organizations.
Co started his career as the Treasurer of the Cebu Contractors Association and has been a member of CCCI since 2003 where he has served in various capacities, including Trustee from 2016 to 2018, Chairman of Cebu Business Month in 2017, Vice President of External Affairs & Relations from 2018 to 2020, and Vice President of CGrowth/Membership Development from 2020 to 2021.
Co previously served as the Assistant to the President of Cebu Oversea Hardware from 1994 to 2000 and is currently the Assistant to the President of Cebu Steel Corporation.
With a Bachelor of Science in Management from Ateneo de Manila University, Co is poised to play a key role in driving the growth and development of the industry sector in Cebu.
His extensive experience in business and his deep connections within the community make him the ideal leader to guide CCCI into the future.
Engr. Leonora B. Salvane, the founder and vice chairman of GT Cosmetics Manufacturing, Inc., has been making waves in the business community with over 40 years of experience in the field of chemical engineering.
In 2015, Engr. Salvane was conferred with the Most Promising Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Award, an international recognition of her exceptional achievements in business. She was also awarded the Semper Fidelis Award by the USC Alumni Association for Virtus Leadership in the same year. Her achievements in entrepreneurship were further honored by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce & Industry when she was named the Countryside Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015 and in December of 2022, she was awarded the International Innovation Awards in Bangkok, Thailand as a testament to her continued impact in the industry.
Engr. Salvane’s contributions to the community were further acknowledged by the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers & The Professional Regulatory Board of Chemical Engineering, which awarded her with a Special Citation. She was also named Outstanding Chemical Engineer by the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers in 2016.
In addition to her professional achievements, Engr. Salvane is an active member of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where she served as a trustee from 2019 to 2021. She is also a trustee of GT Northeast Academy, which showcases her commitment to education and community development.
Her dedication, hard work, and innovative ideas have inspired many, making her a trailblazer in the industry and a valuable leader of CCCI.
Stanley Uang, is a highly accomplished professional with over 38 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and international trade industries and has been a member of the CCCI since 1986.
Uang began his career as a Medical Representative for International Pharmaceuticals Inc. (IPI) in Cebu, Philippines in 1985. Throughout the years, he has held numerous positions within the company, including National Sales Manager for the Clinical Diagnostic & Equipment Sales Division, VP-Sales & Marketing, and most recently, Vice-President-Business Development for IPI Cebu Main and Managing Director for IPI India Pvt. Ltd.
Uang’s contribution to the company also includes being a founding member of the IPI Strategic Planning Group and leading various special projects, such as the launch of Mosquito Coil in 1996, Vaporin Inhaler in 1998, and Goodspeed Freight Forwarding in 1999.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Uang has also made a significant impact in various organizations. He served as the Worshipful Master of Freemason Cebu Lodge 128 in 2004-2005, the President of AIM Batch 3 in 1996-1997, and the Founding President of the Cebu Executive Club in 1993-1994. Currently, Uang is a Board of Director for LIM’s Brotherhood Association, Inc and has been a medical representative of IPI in the Philippine Marketing Association since 2009.
Uang holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology and earned 6th place in the Medical Technology Board Exam in 1985.
His expertise and leadership qualities, coupled with his passion for serving the community, make him the ideal candidate to serve in the CCCI Board of Trustees.
Among the highly-regarded candidates for the 2023 CCCI BOT Election is Benedict Que, President of Primehomes Development Corporation and CEO of RAQ Holdings.
Benedict Que’s extensive experience in the industry sector and proven track record of success make him a strong contender for the position. He is the President & CEO of RAQ Holdings, which manages a portfolio of businesses including the Golden Prince Hotel & Suites, Golden Valley Hotel, Golden Charm Pawnshop Inc. and Grace Academy. He is also the Chairman of Phil Inno-Ventures Agriculture Cooperative (PIVAC) and President of Philippine Chocolate Company (Philchoco).
In 2018, Benedict Que served as the Overall Chairman of Cebu Business Month and was Vice President of Membership Development for CCCI in 2020-2021. He also served as a Trustee for both CCCI in 2017-2021 and Hotels, Restaurants, Resorts Association of Cebu (HRRAC) in 2016-2018. He has been a member of CCCI since 2011.
Aside from his business accomplishments, Benedict Que is a distinguished alumnus of the University of San Carlos where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Accounting in 1982. He was also a bronze medalist in badminton at the 2008 ASEAN Paragames, representing the Philippines.
With his impressive credentials and deep involvement in the Cebu business community, Benedict Que is poised to make a positive impact as a leader of CCCI.
