The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), through its Commission on Elections (COMELEC), is pleased to announce the official list of candidates for its highly anticipated Annual Board of Trustees (BoT) Elections. Ten (10) vacant seats across various business sectors are up for election, with a diverse pool of candidates vying to contribute their leadership and expertise to the future of the Chamber and the broader Cebu business community.
In the Industry sector, five distinguished candidates are vying for three (3) vacant positions. The candidates include:
- Ma. Aleta Dela Calzada, Designer & Managing Proprietor & Founder of ATE by Tatah Clothier
- Anton Perdices, Chief Representative of Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. – Cebu
- Benedict Que, President of Primehomes Development Corporation
- Constantine Tanchan, CEO of Aquatic Phoenix Aquaculture Group
- Stanley Uang, VP of Business Development at International Pharmaceuticals Inc. (IPI) Cebu Main
The Trade sector sees a competitive race for three (3) vacant seats, with six candidates in the running:
- Bernard Chioson, Vice President of External Affairs at B. Benedicto & Sons Co., Inc.
- Francis Dy, President/Managing Director of Greenworld LED Solutions, Inc.
- Ira Jon Kiener, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Dealogikal Corp.
- Rex Regan King, Board Director and General Manager at RDAK Transport Inc.
- May Liu, Owner-Manager of May Pharma Distributor
- Mario Panganiban, General Manager of Cebu Advent Development Corporation
In the Service sector, seven candidates are contending for three (3) positions:
- Farhad Afshon, CEO/Managing Owner of FAAB Cleaning Services
- Wendell Ganhinhin, Partner & Head of Cebu Branch at P&A Grant Thornton (Punongbayan & Araullo)
- Herminia Go, Founder of GLC Insurance Services Hub
- Christian Gonzales, Owner & Manager of Cusina Lucas
- Engr. Alden Salazar, President & Chief Technology Officer of Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology (SCSIT) K-12 – Colleges
- Dr. Melvin Tezon, Proprietor of BSG Foods
- Edwin Ortiz, President/CEO of Able Services, Inc.
Lastly two (2) candidates have stepped forward to contest the Sectoral seat, with Virgilio “Nonoy” Espeleta, Co-Chairman of the Alumni Association of the Asian Institute of Management – Cebu Chapter, Inc., and Alfred Reyes, VP of Operations and General Manager at Bai Hotel Cebu, both running unopposed for the single vacant position.
Key Dates:
- The deadline for ballot submission is 12:00 noon on February 27, Thursday.
- The official announcement of the newly elected BoT members will take place during the General Membership Meeting (GMM) on February 28 (Fri), Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino, Cebu City.
