L.K. Lineart
1912-1918 President
The CCC Presidency of L.K. Lineart is summed up by his signature on a document which proved the existence of the Chamber earlier than thought. L.K.Lineart signed the 99-year lease contract starting from Jan. 2, 1914 to December 31, 2013 of an 812.27 sqm reclaimed lot across Cebu Municipal Hall with the American Insular Government which was worked out by CCC with Governor General Cameron Forbes but whose term took effect under the decade-long term of Governor General Francis Burton Harrison.
At the start of Lineart’s term, business was slowed down for a few months after a strong typhoon hit Cebu in 1912. The American Insular Government responded quickly by reconstructing vital infrastructure damaged by the strong typhoon. Cebu at the time had the added advantage of having Sergio Osmeña as Speaker of the nascent unicameral Philippine Assembly, thus facilitating implementation of infrastructure projects.
