Cebu Investments Week Trade Fair and Expo Ignites Economic Recovery for MSMEs

The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), in collaboration with the Cebu City Government, proudly concludes the first-ever Cebu Investments Week Trade Fair and Expo. This momentous 3-day event took place from June 9 to June 11, 2023, at the Plaza Sugbo grounds, aiming to support local businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Cebu City by providing avenues to recover and improve their businesses to support Cebu’s economic growth and development.

The trade fair and expo showcased the participants of the various capacity and training programs conducted under the Cebu Investments Development Concierge Center (CIDCC) project. The CIDCC, a successful collaboration between the CCCI and the Cebu City government, was established as an economic recovery stimulus project, providing assistance and resources to businesses disrupted by the pandemic.

A total of 16 exhibitors showcased their diverse range of goods, including food and beverages, dry goods, and services, out of which are 13 MSME owners who had benefited from the comprehensive training. The trade fair and expo provided these entrepreneurs with an excellent platform to connect with potential customers, establish networks, and drive growth in their respective industries.

“The chamber is committed to attracting both foreign and local investors to choose Cebu as their preferred investment destination” said Charles Kennet Co, President of CCCI.

The success of the Cebu Investments Week Trade Fair and Expo signifies a significant milestone in the journey towards economic recovery for Cebu City. The CCCI and its partners remain dedicated to providing ongoing support and resources to MSMEs, ensuring their sustained growth and success in the face of challenges.
