Grand Chamber Awards 2023

In recognition of the outstanding entrepreneurs with invaluable contribution to the growth and economic development of Cebu, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) annually holds the Grand Chamber Awards (GCA) and Fellowship Night.

The GCA and Fellowship Night annually recognizes exemplary Cebuano individuals, entrepreneurs, and families who have contributed excellent performance in their fields of business and applied ethical practices that reflect the ideal example of a Cebuano entrepreneur.

Award Categories

Entrepreneur of the Year

The award recognizes vital contributions of leaders and catalysts of change that built and sustained world-class businesses that have been in operation for at least ten (10) years.

Said businesses should serve as testaments to their vision and leadership; created innovative products and industries; enriched individual lives; and contributed to the vibrancy of the economy.

  • Entrepreneurial involvement in the businesses that he has handled & started
  • Lifelong achievement
  • The award is to recognize the person, not the company; however, this person must be a member of good standing of CCCI
  • Must be the Owner/founder/CEO/COO of the company

Socially Responsible Entrepreneur

The award recognizes the person who practices business involving the benefits of the society where sustainability is embedded into the core of their business operations and created a shared value for business and the community.

CSR programs should not be limited to environment-related activities/programs, but should also include social and governance initiatives that demonstrate concerns for the overall well-being and welfare of the community.

Must be in the industry for at least five (5) years and must be the prime mover of the organization and maintain a good-standing membership with CCCI. (i.e. foundation, society or association)

Young Entrepreneur of the year

The award recognizes an entrepreneur, not more than 40 years old, which has demonstrated exceptional acumen and outstanding accomplishments in his/her own field of business, responsible for the exponential growth of the business and preferably the founder.

The company/business must have been in operation for at least 3 years and maintain a good-standing membership with CCCI.

MSME of the Year

The award recognizes an entrepreneur of a small business with a gross-sales which does not exceed 60M annually and the founder responsible for the exponential growth of the business.

The company must have been in operation for at least five (5) years and maintain a good-standing membership with CCCI.

Countryside Entrepreneur of the Year

The award recognizes an entrepreneur, doing business beyond tri-cities who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in his/her own field of business, providing employment and business growth in the area he is located.

The company/business must have been in operation for at least five (5) years and maintain a good-standing membership with CCCI.

Technopreneur of the Year

The award recognizes an entrepreneur who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, creativity, and impact in the field of innovation and technology entrepreneurship. This prestigious award celebrates the accomplishments of entrepreneurs who have pioneered groundbreaking ideas, products, or services that have significantly transformed industries, improved lives, and contributed to economic growth.

Recipients of this award are typically visionary leaders who have successfully navigated the challenges of building and scaling a technology-driven business. They have shown an ability to identify emerging trends, leverage cutting-edge technologies, and capitalize on market opportunities to create sustainable and disruptive solutions. Entrepreneur often possesses a strong track record of turning their innovative concepts into reality, driving meaningful change, and fostering a culture of innovation within their organizations.

The company/business must have been in operation for at least five (5) years and maintain a good-standing membership with CCCI.

FAQs

General Critera

Entrepreneurs must meet the following criteria in order to be nominated:

  1. Must be a CCCI Member and Owner/Founder/CEO/COO of the company.
  2. Must be primarily responsible for the recent performance of the company/business;
  3. Demonstrates leadership and perseverance in the face of adversity
  4. Fosters teamwork and builds loyalty among personnel
  5. Demonstrates innovativeness in their product and/or service;
  6. Lives out integrity in the arena of business competition;
  7. Practices corporate social responsibility;
  8. Demonstrates exceptional track record based on the company/business’ present financial performance;
  9. Must be a CCCI member in good standing for at least 1 year
  10. Past awardees in the same category are not eligible for nomination

Company/business must be a CCCI member in good standing and have been in operation for the number of years specified in each category.

Who Can Be Nominated

The nominee must hold a current CCCI Membership in good standing and serve as the owner, founder, CEO, or COO with primary responsibility for the company’s performance, both historically and in recent times. Additionally, the company should have been in operation for a minimum of three (3) years.

Who Can Submit Nominations?

Anyone who is associated with a successful entrepreneur can nominate a candidate as long as he and his company is a member in good standing status. Self-nominations are also encouraged.
